When the pandemic turned the world upside down, like so many others, I found myself overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. Losing my job during the shutdowns was difficult, and I struggled to find hope during such an unsettling time. But in the middle of all the chaos, I discovered comfort in baking.
What started as a way to cope quickly became something much bigger. I realized that a simple cupcake could do more than satisfy a sweet tooth—it could brighten someone’s day, bring comfort, and give people a small moment of happiness when they needed it most.
My name is Tyiesha Dunson, and I’m the passionate baker behind Cupcake Blvd. Baking has always been close to my heart, thanks to my incredible grandmother, a Master Chef who inspired my love for creating desserts. Many of the recipes I use today are rooted in her originals, with my own special touch added along the way. As a single mother of five, I built Cupcake Blvd with faith, determination, and a dream of creating something meaningful. What began as a difficult season in my life has grown into a business rooted in joy, connection, and handcrafted desserts made with care. Today, my mission remains the same: making the world into a better place, one cupcake at a time.
